ABOUT WILDLIFE PARKS

Wildlife in Uttarakhand is diverse and dense. The state is an ideal sanctum for wild animals of many species. The state is home to India’s most famous protected area, Jim Corbett National Park. It is the playground of majestic Bengal tiger, leopard, elephant, Himalayan bear, deer, and several bird species. Jeep safaris in Jim Corbett put wildlife enthusiasts on the edge of their seat. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Nanda Devi National Park is a haven for alpine flora and fauna. Adjacent to Nanda Devi, the Valley of Flowers National Park is a unique flowery sight to behold in summer amidst an otherwise snow-covered terrain. Famous for coniferous forests, the Gangotri National Park is home to elusive snow leopard, ibex, and tahr.
